Dyslexia Reading Success How to unlock a Love for Reading and Personal growth in Students

A small bit About me, and my journey from severe Dyslexic to author of Dyslexia Reading Success

Hi my name is Lloyd Christie

In the process of overcoming severe dyslexia, I not only gained the power to Read and Write, I gained a wealth of knowledge and insights on the subject of dyslexia and learning that crosses many areas, including: language; education; learning styles; health; cognitive components that influence reading speed and concentration and reading readiness; and the role of psychology and self-belief — all of which make for an effective map for dyslexic readers. Dyslexia Reading Success is filled with insights and practical advice and methods that will be of value to students, parents, and teachers alike.

Dyslexia Reading Success has three main parts:

Chapters 1, 2 and 3 of the book are dedicated to addressing the role that the written language plays in dyslexia, as well as addressing other contributing factors that can result in dyslexia/reading difficulties and unpacking the Secret history of dyslexia and the written language.

Chapter 4 of the book is dedicated to highlighting the common tendencies and characteristics associated with dyslexic readers.

For many students, dyslexia or difficulty with words is genetic. Behind this difficulty with words, we have students’ learning and processing styles; the place where we find their mental strengths and characteristics.

Chapters 5, 6 and 7 of the book are dedicated to exploring developmental habits and practices to develop literacy and students’ unique learning and processing styles.

The Goal of Dyslexia Reading Success is to cultivate a progressive philosophy of literacy (Reading and Writing) in children, not as rules and regulations to follow, but a philosophy of Learning that is an extension of the students’ own beliefs, habits, and personal drives. A philosophy of learning and development that will serve students now, in education and well after they have left formal education. Serving a student in literacy, as well as serving students’ other pursuits and interests.
